Product description
Annually 1-2% of the total healthcare budget is spent on wound care management
of chronic wounds. Most common causes for chronic wounds or ulcers are:
Decubitus
-Venous insufficiency
-Diabetes Mellites
-Burn wounds
Wound care management consists of changing of the wound dressings, cleaning
of the wound, prevention of infection and inspection of the wound. Surgical
treatment can be either reconstructive (grafts) or destructive (amputation).
Wound care management usually takes many months. Chronic wounds tend to last
for a long time because it is difficult to treat the underlying cause. Chronic
wounds get contaminated and because the areas are poorly per fused recovery
takes a long time.
Product
The Wound Qr-Therapy is based on the decontamination of chronic wounds in a
completely non invasive way. Chronic wounds can be managed better because of
the decontamination Decontaminated wounds are better suitable for reconstructive
surgery with better results and less post operative infections. Furthermore
wounds heal quicker when the contamination is eradicated.
The Wound Qr-Therapy is a wound healing system based on a mixture of Oxygen
and Ozone. This gas mixture is applied locally using a disposable chamber. The
mixture is ventilated over the wounds while maintaining a hypobaric pressure.
It is a non-invasive system for the healing and decontamination of chronic (open)
wounds.
The Wound Qr Therapy is applied daily and takes about 20 minutes a day.
The Wound Qr Therapy system consists of:
-An Ozone generator (TUV approved and CE Marked)
-A disposable chamber for the treatment of chronic wounds.
The Wound Qr disposable is a chamber for single use to deliver a mixture of
Ozone and Oxygen to the wound. The ambient atmosphere in the chamber and the
number of treatments will result in a gradual decrease or even a complete disappearance
of microorganisms in the
wound. Hence, the Qr Therapy is effected in two stages; first wound clearance
followed by healing.
The Wound Qr Therapy is a closed system.
The wound Qr Therapy system is a new treatment. First experiences gave very
promising results and trials are being set up in Europe. Responses from doctors
in Holland have been very positive. Results of the first pilot study are expected
in the near future.
